How long does it take to set up a new account?

It takes less than a day to open your account, however it can take 2-3 days for your web site to be visible on the Internet as it may take that much time for your nameservers to be propagated throughout the Internet. Oceania hosted domains must be delegated to our nameserver settings:

What is the hardware configuration of your servers?

Oceania Hosting uses state-of-the-art servers for its hosting needs. We do not compromise on technology and use only top quality servers, switches and router, This translates into great reliability and uptime.  As a result, we guarantee that our servers will be up and functioning 99.99% of the time per month. [Exclusions are outages and circumstances beyond our control ( eg DDOS attacks etc)] Our servers employat least:

RAID10 Disks, 100Mbps uplink, Daily Backups, Quad Core Processors, and 32GB RAM. Centos OS6

What software and operating system run on your servers?

We support all Linux flavours including RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, and OpenSUSE.

Can I upgrade my account type in the future?

Yes, you can easily upgrade/downgrade your account anytime. You will be charged (or may be given pro-rata rebate) for the difference accordingly.

Are there any hidden charges?

No there are no hidden charges. All our prices are ‘as published’. If you require or use any additional service (such as customised programming work; additional disk space or bandwidth, personal SSL) you will be asked to authorise applicable charges.

Do you provide unlimited storage or unlimited bandwidth?

Our experience has shown that unlimited usage hosting plans come with a plethora of server issues. Because we want best for all our clients hosting experience our plans have limits.

We’d like you to feel free to host your account without any restriction and will discuss your growth needs as they arise. We do request our clients to use the hosting account disk space and bandwidth for their web hosting needs only. These resources are not for backups, archives or storing/distributing non-web-hosting files (i.e. file-sharing).

How do you charge for over usage of disk space or bandwidth?

If you reach close to the limit of your disk space or bandwidth allowance you will receive an automated Warning Email from the server requesting that you contact us. We will then discuss your needs and make appropriate adjustments in consultation with you. Bandwidth is calculated on monthly basis and is reset at the start of the next month anyway. If you feel you will be going over your limit soon, you can request an upgrade of your account.

What are your normal business hours?

Oceania operates in Australia Eastern Standard Daylight Savings Time Zone.                               

  • 9:30 am to 8:30 pm Monday to Friday
  • CLOSED Weekends and NSW public holidays
Do you provide phone support?

Yes, we employ dedicated phone support staff who can be contacted during our normal business hours.When a problem requires an urgent response, outside our normal business hours, please call 1300 301 990 immediately.  Listen carefully to our message and you can either

  • leave us a message that states what your problem is
  • make sure you speak your return phone number clearly OR
  • follow voice prompt to speak directly with our ‘out of hours’ support technician.
What makes a problem urgent?

A. It is urgent if your site is not displaying on the internet and you have checked the following:

i. That your domain name registration is current and has not expired.
You may check the WHOIS records here: http://whois.domaintools.com/
If your domain name has expired you should contact the registry noted in the WHOIS record to renew and your site will come back in a few hours.
ii. That your internet connection is working.
iii. You have rebooted your system – including routers

B. It is urgent if your site is displaying serious errors and your or your clients cannot access your pages at all. Before calling us please:

i. Be sure that you have upgraded to the most recent updates of any software you are running.
ii. Determine, wherever possible, whether your site is facing a server error or software error.
If you are facing a software error you are advised to contact the support system provided by the software developers.

Do you have a money- back guarantee?

Yes, we have a no-questions asked policy for any subscriber who chooses to cancel their hosting account within the first 30 days. You must contact us within 30 days and we will refund the FULL fees that you have paid for hosting. Any fees for domain name registration or other fees you have paid for cannot be refunded – as domain registration remains yours until its expiry.

What is your cancellation policy?

Upon the due date the hosting term is automatically rolled over for a similar period and fees are payable unless properly cancelled “In Writing” by the account holder BEFORE the due date.
